The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars forward James Neal two games for a boarding infraction that injured the Columbus Blue Jackets' Derek Dorsett. The NHL announced the discipline on Friday. Neal will miss games against New Jersey on Saturday and Carolina on Monday. Neal also will forfeit $8,515 in salary, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. Neal hit Dorsett from behind at 13:01 of the second period in Thursday's 4-1 loss.

forward has been suspened for two games by the NHL for his hit on . You could almost bet this was going to happen. As a player you can not make contact with an elbow to the oppostions head and not expect to be suspended. According the this is bad for the Stars because Neal is one of their best players.

left wing was suspended two games by the NHL on Friday for a hit from behind on right wing at 13:01 of the second period of Thursday's game.Dorsett was among a group of players battling along the wall for the puck when Neal came charging in. Neal appeared to leave his feet to deliver a blow to Blue Jackets defenseman , but instead he hit Dorsett in the back. The force of the blow drove Dorsett face-first into the glass. He fell to the ice and could not get up. Neal was assessed a five-minute major for boarding and a game-misconduct.The second-year forward leads the Stars with 11 goals and 22 points, but he'll now have to sit out home games Saturday and Monday against New Jersey and Carolina, respectively. The Dallas Stars have placed winger Fabian Brunnstrom on the injured list with a shoulder injury. The move Thursday was retroactive to Nov. 7, the last time Brunnstrom played before hurting the shoulder in practice. He has one goal and six assists in 17 games for Dallas.
