Formerly the Mighty Ducks with the original name based on the popular Disney film of the same name, the Anaheim Ducks have been in the National Hockey League since 1993. The name change did not change the name of the Ducks mascot, Wild Wing, as a very successful petition by the fans forced the team to keep their original mascot.
A number of playoff appearances culminated in the Anaheim Ducks first Stanley Cup victory in 2007 after a finals appearance in 2003.
The Honda Center has been the proud home of Anaheim Ducks hockey for many years.
