Great American Ball Park
A Fan's Guide to the Game
Junior and the Reds are looking to make a run at the NL Central pennant. With some new talent in the starting rotation and a little help from some big bats, Cincinnati's post-season future is looking bright. Any Reds fan headed out for a game at Great American Ball Park should take a look at our "Fan's Guide to the Game" below.
Great American Ball Park is one of the newest stadiums in the League and since it was designed solely to house the Reds and Major League Baseball, you know it'll be a great place to catch a game. Tucked neatly between the Ohio River, Johnny Bench Boulevard and Pete Rose Way sits Great American Ball Park, the home of the Cincinnati Reds.
It's recommended to use Elm Street when approaching the game to beat traffic tie-ups elsewhere. From the I-75 take the Second Street exit to Elm and head South on Elm to Mehring Way and then East to the Riverfront Lots. There's plenty of parking around the stadium and you should be able to find outdoor lots starting around $6.00. If it works out best for you, you can park across the Ohio River in Covington and walk across the Roebling Bridge. You get a great view of the stadium from across the river.
Cincinnati has a strong German heritage, so it's recommended that you save room for a brat or mett during the game. If German sausage isn't your thing, there's plenty of normal fanfare to be found in concession areas scattered throughout the Ball Park.
Finished in 2003 at a cost of $325 million, there's no need to worry about a bad seat. Whether you're tucked in behind home plate or enjoying a fresh breeze from the outfield seating, you'll be hard-pressed to find an obstructed view at Great American Ball Park.
Cincinnati has done a great job of putting together one of the League's greatest venues. The architecture and ambiance adds to each experience at a Reds game, so grab some friends, get out to Great American Ball Park and root the Reds on to victory this season! |
