2008 THE TOUR Championship Information

Welcome to NASCAR meets the PGA at THE TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA. 2007 marked the first year The Championship closed out the FedEx Cup.

2007 also marked the move of the tournament's date from November to mid-September. The move enables THE TOUR Championship to cap-off a four-tournament event, the Chase for the FedEx Cup. Enter NASCAR and an elaborate qualification system and FedEx as the sponsor in place of NEXTEL.

FedEx Cup Points will be awarded during the season and will be the basis for qualification into FedEx Cup events. Only the top 30 points leaders will qualify for THE TOUR Championship and there will be no cut.

This means you're going to see the hottest golfers on the Tour at the peak of the season. That equates to tight competition, fabulous shots, a constantly shifting leaderboard and exciting finishes.

The PGA did this one right. The best of the best at their best and right there in front of you on a beautiful course. Now you're in for some great play.
