Born and raised in Boston, MA, Dane Cook moved to New York in 1994 to pursue a career in comedy. Two years later he moved to Los Angeles and continued to work hard, perfecting his craft with the hopes his big break would soon come along.

This happened in 1998 with his first of many appearances on Comedy Central as part of Comedy Central's Premium Blend. His popularity started to grow and he regularly appeared on the network, eventually landing a recording deal with Comedy Central Records after releasing his debut album Harmful if Swallowed.

Two years later Dane Cook skyrocketed to super-stardom with his second release Retaliation. The album was a huge hit and peaked at Number Four on the Billboard Hot 200, the highest charting comedy album in 29 years. Retaliation has since been certified double-platinum.

HBO was the next television channel to feature Dane Cook. A nine-episode documentary named Tourgasm and his first HBO special Vicious Circle both aired in 2005. Vicious Circle was a sell-out show at the TD Banknorth in Boston and shows just how far this comedian has come in a relatively short period of time.
