Pitchfork Festival Information
Pitchfork Media, a Chicago based internet publication focusing on music, has hosted the Pitchfork Music Festival since 2006. Pitchfork Media has a unique and at times controversial way of doing things, and that philosophy plays a part in the planning of this event. TickCo is your ticket for the 2009 Pitchfork Festival held at Union Park in Chicago!
The Pitchfork Festival takes place July 17-19, three days of music showcasing forty artists from several different genres of music. Legendary alternative music artist The Flaming Lips will host the 2009 Pitchfork Festival and headline Sunday evening's show.
The first day of the festival is referred to as "Write the Night" and will be a unique affair, with Built to Spill, The Jesus Lizard, Yo La Tengo and Tortoise perfoming on that day. Pitchfork attendees will have an opportunity to vote online for the set list they wish each band to play!
Days two and three of the festival will feature tons of great music. The Flaming Lips will also participate in the "Write the Night" feature, as they have decided to allow their fans the right to vote for their favorite Lips songs to be incorporated into the set list. Be sure to vote for Do You Realize? and Race for the Prize!
