A new school year has begun at Rydell High School in Chicago. Grease tells the story about the so called "greasers" of the school, the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies. The leader of the Burger Palace Boys is Danny Zuko. The summer before the current school year, Danny had met a young lady by the name of Sandy Dumbrowski and the two had a brief love affair that was never fully resolved. When Sandy shows up at Rydell as the new girl, she discovers a different Danny Zuko. The rest of the musical centers on the resolution of their love for one another and the adventures that ensue while this is happening.
Grease does a wonderful job of exploring teenage adolescence and does so in the innocent age of the fifties and sixties. The music in the production is a fabulous recreation of classic, early rock and roll.
