Clapton Winwood Artist Information
A successful three night run at Madison Square Garden in February of 2008 was the catalyst for rock legends Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood joining forces to tour together in 2009. TickCo is your source for tickets to see these former members of rock supergroup Blind Faith together once again!
1969 saw the break-up of Eric Clapton's legendary band Cream and the hiatus of Traffic, the band Steve Winwood was a member of at that time. Joined by bassist Ric Grech and former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Blind Faith was born. This supergroup only lasted for one tour and the quartet only recorded one self-titled album together, but Blind Faith had managed to make a serious imprint on the history of rock and roll.
Once Blind Faith split up, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood went their separate ways and each put together impressive solo careers, as well as continued work with other artists. Winwood was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic, while Clapton currently holds the distinction of being the only member inducted three times, with two separate groups (The Yardbirds and Cream) and as a solo artist.
The two performed together at the Chicago's Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2007, performing a few tunes from Winwood's Traffic. The chemistry was still there, and the Madison Square Garden trio of shows from 2008 is proof positive the duo can still create fabulous music together.
