Creed Artist Information
An incredibly popular post-grunge band of the late nineties, Creed disbanded in 2004 after creating three albums together. Years of rumors discussing a possible reunion have finally come true, and TickCo has tickets to see Creed from the best seats in the venue!
High school friends Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti decided in 1995 to form a band together, and after a few name changes Creed was born. Hard work and many gigs finally led to the creation of their debut album My Own Prison in 1997. Independently released and produced for only around $6000, the band was eventually signed to Wind-up records and their debut was remixed, then re-released. A good move for Creed, as My Own Prison, now more radio friendly, shot up to Number 22 on the Billboard Hot 200 and eventually sold over six million copies.
Stardom struck with Creed's next release in 1999, Human Clay. A phenomenal success, Human Clay went 11 times platinum, debuted at Number One on the Billboard Hot 200 and spawned two Top Ten singles, including the chart topping With Arms Wide Open. Creed were full-fledged superstars. Fans loved the passioniate vocals of Scott Stapp and the band's more mellow take on the grunge genre of music.
One more album, 2001's Weathered, topped the album charts and produced two more Top Ten singles, but popularity began to wane, partly due to the sometimes erratic behavior of Scott Stapp. Creed officially pulled the plug on their existence in June of 2004.
Reuniting seemed unlikely as Scott Stapp embarked on a solo career and the remaining band members formed Alter Bridge. However, Creed formally announced in 2009 plans for new material and a full-scale tour to mark their return to rock music.
Time will tell if the magic Creed once possessed will return. One thing is certain; when Creed is firing on all cylinders they put on one incredible show! Secure great seats from TickCo today and witness for yourself the return of one of the nineties most popular bands, Creed!
