Help Me Choose My Seats ™

Heading to a Wizards game at MCI Center? Looking for the perfect seats? Look no further. We have MCI Center broken down to help you choose the perfect seats.

General Information – The MCI Center opened in 1997 and holds 20,647 fans during a basketball setup. Permanent seats include plenty of cushioning and cup holders.

Rated - To impress clients or to treat a friend to the best seats in the house, look for center court VIP seats in the floor sections 100 and 111. Floor VIP sections include exclusive access to the Johnny Walker Club, a full service restaurant, private restrooms and private entrance/exit to the floor. VIP floor sections surround the court and include sections 100, 101, 105, 106, 110-112 and 121. Look for double lettered rows AA-DD. AA is closest to the court. If you can’t be on the floor look for seats close to row A, the first row up from the VIP sections. For the best views, stay between the baskets in sections 100, 101, 110-112 and 121. Section 121 is directly behind the visiting team’s bench while section 101 is directly behind the home bench.

Rated - For great views from between the baselines, look for seats in the higher rows of the side court sections and Club level seating. Rows K and up in the lower level can usually be found for considerably less than seats in rows A-J. Club level seats in sections 200, 201, 214-216 and 229 between the ends of the court offer VIP amenities such as in-seat wait service and private access to the Acela Club.

Rated - For an even further break in price from the sections above, look for seats in the corners and ends of the lower level. You can find some good bargains occasionally in sections 105, 106, 116 and 117 closer to the court. I recommend trying the corner sections in 102, 103, 108, 109, 113, 114, 119 and 120 first. The angle is kind of off due to the Center’s design to house hockey as well as basketball but you get an okay view of the whole court and the basket won’t be a hindrance. For the best prices in the lower level, look for seats behind the baskets in sections 104-107 and 115-118. Some folks don’t like to sit behind the hoops. I don’t mind; it gives you a chance at being close to the game at some pretty good prices. Club seats on the ends and corners can be pricey. I for one don’t think they can justify some of these prices for the distant views they offer. I suppose if you feel like seeing the game in style, with waitress services and a more private setting, these seats would be the perfect choice. For a break in price from the premium Club sections, look for seats in sections 202-213 and 217-228.

Rated - For those on a budget, side court upper level sections are the best way to save some cash for souvenirs and sodas during the game. I highly recommend spending what it takes to make sure you’re sitting in section 400, 401, 416, 418 or 443, if you must sit in the upper level. You’ll get your money’s worth by seeing the action on both ends of the court. Stray to far from these sections up high and you’ll have a distant view of one end of the court, which makes for about half the action. Choose seats in the corners and ends of the Center during premium series and post-season games only and only if prices are too high to sit elsewhere. Avoid sections 402-415 and 419-432 if you can. With this being a hockey venue as well as a basketball venue, seats here just seem too far back from the court during the average game. Of course they’ll offer the best prices in the house for NCAA Tournaments and, cross your fingers, playoff series games!
