Help Me Choose My Seats ™

Deep in the heart of Raider Nation lies a silver and black multi-purpose stadium known as McAfee Coliseum. Its Bluegrass surface has taken a pounding over the years. It's not easy being a playing surface in the AFC West! Now that you know what kind of "Hard-Knocks" stadium you'll be visiting, let' see if we can find you the best seats for your budget.

Best Seats in the House Rated - Welcome to Mt. Davis. Along with the Raiders came the huge section of stadium style seating added to center field of the old Oakland Coliseum referred to as Mt. Davis by the locals. The club sections here offer yard line views of the game, upscale amenities, if you believe in eating sushi at a football game, and in seat wait service. We recommend sections 239-246 and 138-146 for the best perspectives of the action. Sections 142 and 242 straddle the 50-yard line and will demand the higher price.

Excellent Seats Rated - For the best match of site lines and price we recommend second level seating in sections 214-221. It's a shorter hike to the main concourse; which gets you to the restrooms and concessions faster at the half. Another good choice for a premium view are the upper rows of sections 113-122.

Good Seats Rated - If you want to sit close to the action, you're out of luck at "The Net". The closest you can get are the end zone bleachers in sections 103-109 and 126-131. The bleachers in this stadium go off on Sundays and you better be a Raiders fan if you choose to sit in the lower bowl. This stadium was originally designed for baseball so most sections bow away from the sidelines. For the best perspective, close to the action, we recommend sections 114-121.

Economical Seats Rated - For premium and post season games you may have to find seats in the following sections depending on your budget. Second level yard line sets in section 214-222 offer the ideal view of the action from a nice elevation. For a further break in price, look for seats in the second level end zones, sections 200-213 and 223-234. We recommend looking for third level sideline seats in sections 320-314. These seats offer a bird's eye view of the game at affordable prices. Unless you're really on a tight budget or simply can't find a ticket anywhere else, avoid the upper bowl of the original structure. The money you save on tickets here is not worth the distant view of the game and isolated feeling you get during slow games.

Seats To Avoid - Avoid the nosebleeds in sections 335-355, the view from the higher rows up there tends to make Giants look like ants and Broncos appear to be no more than tiny rats.

Parking - Parking can be found around the Coliseum and the nearby arena. The farther you're willing to walk, the cheaper the price on the private lots becomes. Be prepared to pay $15-$40 for private lot parking when the Raiders are in town to toss the pigskin around.

Families - To save cost on concessions, soft-sided coolers measuring no more than 8 inches can be brought into the Coliseum. Pack a few sandwiches and some plastic bottled beverages to avoid concession prices that reflect the high cost of living in the Bay Area.
