Help Me Choose My Seats ™

Heading to a Hawks game at Philips Arena? Looking for the perfect seats? Look no further. We have Philips Arena broken down to help you choose the perfect seats.

General Information – Now here’s one of those hockey/basketball arenas that does it right. Opened in 1995 he Philips Arena holds up to 20,300 fans during a basketball configuration. It holds a rare distinction as being a nice place to watch hockey or basketball from any seat. They stacked the luxury suites all on one side of this arena and on top of each other. I like to refer to it as “The Tower of Power” and once you’ve been there you’ll know why. With the suite level out of the way the upper level seats are a lot closer to the court. Because this massive suite structure also makes up for a big chunk of the 20,000 plus seating you’re really talking about a nice little arena, designed very well for its dual-role purpose. Temporary floor seats for basketball will be marked with double-letter rows with AA being on the floor and BB behind it and so forth. It is possible for row BB to be the first row in some sections (102, 104 and 106) but only if noted with the tickets on our site.

Rated - Club Seats in Philips Arena offer some of the best-added amenities you can find in any arena. VIP Parking, if included with the ticket, is close-up and private. Club Seats also offer extra wide, extra cushioned, seats with nice support and prime views of the action. You can get any closer to the action than these seats without running the risk of getting into foul trouble. Each Club Seat has extra room for the shoulders and legs and its own cup holder. It’s a good thing they’re such comfortable seats because you don’t have to get up when you sit here. Premium in-seat food and beverage service is included in these sections and it’s not your standard beer and pretzel concessions either. It’s great tasting food in a wide variety, from well-established Atlanta area restaurant companies. To get the most out of a basketball game at Philips Arena, look for seats in the first 19 rows of sections 101-107. These sections include the fine amenities mentioned above. Some Club sections (101 and 107) begin with row C as the first row and are slightly elevated. Section 104 includes VIP amenities up to row R. Double lettered rows are closer to the floor with row AA being the closest to the court.

Rated - Any of the floor section seating in rows AA and BB around the court are great seats to watch a game. The first row of some sections (102, 104 and 106) is BB and there’s nothing between you and the paint but your own feet. I would even take seats in the first four or five rows of sections 101-112 and 118-123 any day of the week at any price. You can’t beat being this close to the court no matter what angle the view is from. For a break in price from the floor seats or Club Seats, look for seats in the first 10-12 rows (A-L) of sections 112-118. The first row of sections 118 and 112 is row C and its slightly elevated from the floor.

Rated - Higher rows in the lower bowl get you some of the best prices for views in the lower level. On the sides in sections 101-107 and 112-118, look for seats in rows K and higher. These seats offer great views of the game from the sides and are still close to the court due to the great design of this arena. For an even further break in price on lower level seats, look for seats in the single letter rows (A and higher) of sections 108-111 and 118-123. These sections are on the corners and ends of the arena. Some folks don’t like the view from behind the baselines but I personally think it’s a great way to get close to the action at a lower price than premium seating.

Rated - There’s not a horrible seat in the Arena, only close and closer. For some of the lowest prices available, look for seats in sections 210-213 first. These give you a great view of the game from the player’s side of the court. Sections 211 and 212 are between the baskets and will cost you more. Sections 201-209 and 214-222 are on the corners and ends of the 200 level. You don’t get the side-to-side view of both ends of the court but you do get a great price on tickets and some extra cash left in your pocket for that giant foam finger you’ve always wanted!

Seats to Avoid – As I mentioned above there’s not a bad seat in the house. Stick to 300 level seating during premium and post-season games that have boosted ticket prices out of your ideal range. I f you do need to save cash by sitting in the upper level, look for seats in sections 307-314 first. You really need to see both ends of the court to get the most bang for your buck when sitting up high. Try to avoid 400 level seating and 300 level seating on the ends in sections 301-306 and 315-320 if you can. I recommend spending the extra few bucks to sit down lower if you can. Don’t worry if you do decide to sit up high, they designed the arena in a way that keeps the upper level seats as close to the court as possible. I think is pure genius to stack the suites on top of each other to get this done. Enjoy the Arena!
