For a lot of people, the Masters is more than just a sporting event; it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Below is a very special letter we received from Mark D. in Chattanooga, TN shortly after the 2005 Tournament. It's a bit long, but very moving, and we think it pretty much sums up the customer satisfaction we try to provide each of our clients.-- "I would like to thank TickCo for my father's once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Masters golf tournament. Last year I considered taking my father to a practice round at the event, but I put that aside because the only way to get tickets is through a lottery, which I have heard can take years. Last month I decided that I had to find tickets another way because my father is 73-years old and I knew I would regret it if he never saw the course he talked about since he was a child. One option was eBay, but I read an article that internet buyers [should] beware because a person can't be sure of the reputation of the seller. My only other option, besides standing on a street corner in Augusta with a sign reading, "I need 2 tickets," seemed to be a ticket broker. Initially, I can't say that I was comfortable going through a broker either because in the past I'd read about customers buying what turned out to be phony tickets for events like the Super Bowl or fans never receiving tickets after they'd been purchased. My mind was immediately put to ease when I saw that your company was a member of the Better Business Bureau. After buying tickets online, I was impressed when I received your phone call the next morning confirming that I truly wanted the tickets. Less than 24 hours later my [Masters] tickets arrived via Federal Express, and then I had the pleasure of presenting them to my father. That alone was worth the price. Yesterday, I'm happy to report that my dad made it to the hallowed grounds of Augusta. I know you have heard it before, but television can't do the course justice. Through T.V. it is impossible to see the fairways, which are more like carpet than grass. Through T.V. it is impossible to see the undulating greens. Through T.V. it is impossible to see the spirit of the place. My father said it was an experience he will never forget. This weekend my dad will, once again, sit down and watch the Masters, but this year we'll have a first hand insight about the course and a greater appreciation for the talent of golfers like Tiger Woods, who we got to see play in person. Buying a Coke at the Masters - $1.50. Buying a new hat - $22. Seeing the smile on my fathers face as he walked up the 18th fairway at Augusta National toward the green - priceless.
