Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed in 1996 by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva. The trio set out to redefine rock operas and produce music that combined various musical genres including classical, rock, gospel and R&B. There are simply no limitations with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra whether it be the amount of musicians in the band (over 60), the number of vocalists (over a dozen) or the diversity of the members (a mix of gender, race and age).

TSO was named after the Trans-Siberian Railway that connects Russia to parts of Eastern Asia. This name is a testament of the band's desire to connect with many different cultures through their music. While based in New York City, TSO travels around the world often visiting obscure locations. Their Christmas renditions have made them an enormous hit and fan favorite around holiday time.
