Love them or hate them, no one can deny the huge impact Stone Temple Pilots has had on the music industry in their career. Their fans love them, many music critics do not and the band has travelled a road filled with obstacles and controversy, but always managing to create some stellar music.
The band released their debut album Core in 1992. Critics dismissed them initially as a band trying to cash in on the Seattle grunge scene that was popular at the time, but the music was simply so well written and played and the vocal delivery too impressive for the fans to ignore. Four singles from the disc hit the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts and the single Plush won the band a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal.
The band was not done. Their second disc Purple was huge, debuting at Number One on the charts, going multi platinum with two singles, Vasoline and Interstate Love Song, topping the Mainstream Rock Charts, the latter for an amazing 15 weeks.
Success proved to be tough for the band to handle as singer Scott Weiland began to indulge in the rock-star lifestyle a little too excessively. The band broke-up and regrouped several times as a direct result of Weiland's problems from 1995 to 2002, managing to release three more albums during that time, but the damage was done and the band broke up in 2002.
However, time fortunately can heal many wounds and STP announced in April 2008 that they were back together! This is a monster event in music and this is a tour that is sure to sell out everywhere they play. TickCo Premium Seating is the source you need to ensure you are not left out in the cold.
