The decade of the eighties was a period of excess and good times, a decade remembered fondly by those who lived through it. Musically as with any era there was some very interesting music that was created.
One genre of music that came out of the ashes of the early punk rock movement of the mid to late seventies is new wave music. New wave was still an alternative to the seventies and eighties arena rock that dominated the airwaves, but was a much safer genre of music than punk, utilizing more harmonies and often times keyboards.
The 2008 Regeneration Tour line-up has a number of artists that became popular during this era. This year's line-up includes:
A Flock of Seagulls; ABC; Belinda Carlisle; Human League; Missing Persons and Naked Eyes.
