Gary Levox and Jay DeMarcus, 2/3 of what was to become Rascal Flatts, were second cousins. Demarcus moved to Nashville in 1992, and five years later was able to convince Levox to do the same. The two were playing at a nightclub together when an evening came that they needed someone to sit in on guitar during a performance. Demarcus had previously met Joe Don Rooney, so he was asked to play. The rest is "history".
The trio was signed to Lyric Street Records in 1999, and it wasn't long before Rascal Flatts began churning out singles. Their seventh album, which was released in 2009, aptly describes what Rascal Flatts has been since they began creating music together. Unstoppable. With hits like These Days, My Wish and Here Comes Goodbye on their set list, it is no small wonder that Rascal Flatts concert tickets are in high demand.
