OneRepublic Artist Information
When Apologize hit the radio, not many people had heard of OneRepublic. Listeners just knew the song and reacted positively to it. Fans liked the song so much, it had sales of $4 million in digital downloads in the U.S. alone. The hit song came off OneRepublic's debut album Dreaming Out Loud released in November of 2007. One year later, the rock group from Los Angeles (via Colorado Springs) is emerging as one of the top up-and-coming bands, thanks to MySpace and producer Timbaland.
OneRepublic was formed in 2002 by singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins. When they left Colorado for Los Angeles, the two met up with keyboardist Drew Brown, bassist Brent Kutzle and dummer Eddie Fisher. In 2003, the group signed a deal with Columbia. The contract was short lived and One Republic was signed by Timbaland's Mosley Music Group. While OneRepublic continues to gain momentum, Tedder also writes and produces for other pop and hop hip groups under the pseudonym "Alias." His credits include writing for Paul Oakenfold, Jennifer Lopez, Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield and many other big names in the music industry. While Tedder enjoys the solo work, his main focus is on One Republic.
After the success of Apologize the group put out two more hit singles— Stop and Stare and Say (All I Need) in 2008. Both songs also did extremely well in sales and further propelled OneRepublic into the mainstream industry. Don't miss your chance to see one of the most talented new bands on the music scene.
