What happens when you mix a bunch of college buddies with a passion for playing genuine, authentic music? You get Of a Revolution, more commonly called O.A.R. This is not your typical rock group. In fact, it's inaccurate to call them just a rock band. O.A.R. crosses over to many musical genres including jam, ska, folk, reggae and blues. Of a Revolution prides itself on making real music for real people. There is no "act" with these guys. They truly love playing with each other and it's evident in each performance.
O.A.R. was formed in the early 90s by Marc Roberge, guitarist Richard On and drummer Chris Culos. They bonded in middle school over their love of Pearl Jam, but it wasn't until high school that Of a Revolution would really take form. Bassist Benj Gershman joined the band in 11th grade and the last piece of the puzzle, saxophonist Jerry DiPizzo, came on board full time after meeting Roberge and Culos at Ohio State University.
Despite rarely marketing their music, O.A.R. has found commercial success. Their third album Risen debuted at #11 on the Billboard top internet sales chart and their fourth album Any Time Now made the Billboard Top 200 list. Not bad for a band who once relied on word of mouth. When you attend an O.A.R. concert, you won't just hear the music, you will relate and really appreciate how these five friends bond on stage. O.A.R. tickets are now on sale and TickCo Premium Seating has the best seats available for all show dates.
