Mannheim Steamroller has brought beautiful, compelling Christmas music to the mainstream for over 20 years. Founded by Chip Davis, the sounds of Mannheim Steamroller not only relax and ease the mind, but deliver the Christmas spirit to people around the world. The group has sold over 20 million albums in the U.S. and all but two have been the Top New Age and Holiday Albums.

Davis began his music career touring with the Norman Luboff Choir and writing for an Omaha ad agency. His jingles about the fictional truck driver C.W. McCall became a radio phenomenon with listeners calling to request his music. Davis accepted a recording contract and went on to produce the smash hit "Convoy" in 1975 which sold a million copies in just two months. With the success, Davis was named Country Music Writer of the Year.

In the meantime, Davis explored new forms of music specifically "18th Century classical rock" and started the band Mannheim Steamroller— named after a musical technique known today as the crescendo. The innovative music style of their debut album Fresh Aire did not register with the mainstream at first, but once Davis distributed the album to audio showrooms, listeners could not get enough. Since then, Davis has produced seven more Fresh Aire albums and started making Christmas albums in 1984. A Fresh Aire Christmas has sold more than six million copies and was nominated for a Grammy Award.
