Be a part of Lollapalooza 2009!
Ah, beautiful memories of days past in the world of music! The Rollins Band tearing it up as only Henry Rollins can live, the BH Surfers scaring the dickens out of the crowd with their sonic assault, Ice T doing a few rap songs to the masses, then unveiling his hardcore outfit Body Count for the first time and blowing every other act away that day, Nine Inch Nails early in Trent Reznor's dynamite career, Living Colour with the fabulous Vernon Reid on the axe, the legendary Siouxsie and the Banshees late in their career and the beginning of the original end of headliner Jane's Addiction, when equipment "problems" caused guitarist Dave Navarro to storm off the stage. The setting was Compton Terrace in Phoenix, AZ, the first ever show of what was to become an alternative music institution known as Lollapalooza.
No longer a touring festival, this multi-day event was the brainchild of Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. The festival has hosted a plethora of phenomenal alternative music acts for well over a decade and has prided itself on showcasing a diverse line-up each year.
Another killer line-up has been announced for this year's Lollapalooza! With a number of artists that are true arena headliners, including Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, Lollapalooza One headliner Jane's Addiction and Kings of Leon, this is sure to be another stellar festival. Don't forget to arrive early and check out a number of great supporting acts, including the Southern style indie-rock of Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes, hip hop artists such as Snoop Dogg and Atmosphere, and the shoegaze laced indie-pop of Silversun Pickups.
Lock up tickets today from TickCo and be a part of "Alternative Nation's" first big festival, Lollapalooza!
