James Blunt Artist Information
Not many artists hit it as big as James Blunt did with a debut album. In 2005, Blunt released Back to Bedlam, and the popular single You're Beautiful became a radio sensation. The album was #1 in over a dozen countries and sold 10 million copies. Not bad for a former British Army officer and graduate of the Royal Military Academy.
After leaving the army, Blunt's lifelong interest in music led him to the U.S., most notably playing the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX. It was this performance that grabbed the attention of 4 Non Blondes member Linda Perry who singed him to Custard Records.
After touring for much of 2005 and 2006, Blunt released the live two-disc album Chasing Time: The Bedlam Sessions, which was mostly a collection of songs he had written while on the road. His second studio album, All the Lost Souls, was released in 2007 and featured the popular single 1973. The 70s inspired album also contained hit singles One of the Brightest Stars and Annie. James Blunt's tendency for producing melodic, contemporary songs has appealed to fans of all ages and for a limited time, James Blunt is back on tour to show why he is a must see artist.
