Genesis -Turn It On Again
To define the word Genesis, it simply means "a coming into being". For the band known as Genesis, it seems that throughout their history, this definition clearly states who they were and are. Genesis is a band that has always defined the odds and created something new and amazing in the process. This British band got its start in the early 60’s when it was known as Anon. After a few years of hard work, they finally received success, breaking it big in 1969, renaming themselves as Genesis.
Genesis was Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Peter Gabriel, and in 1970, brought in a drummer by the name of Phil Collins. The band was known early on for its theatrical feel and sometimes "dark" tones. In 1975, Peter Gabriel left the band, and Phil Collins took over as lead singer. This new era for Genesis brought a whole new sound and presence to the band. Genesis brought us great hits like The Knife, I Know What I Like, Mama and Invisible Touch, which is just a very small sample of the great list of music Genesis has provided in its many years of existence.
