Formed in 1976 by Mick Jones, Foreigner released their self-titled debut album the next year and were an immediate hit. The album stayed in the Top 20 for a year, went quintuple-platinum and had two Top Ten singles. The next two albums did equally as well.
Foreigner already had put together a career envied by most bands, but their fourth album, the aptly named 4 had the band reaching heights they probably did not even fathom. The album was their only to top the U.S. charts and four Top 40 singles came from the disc, with two reaching the Top Five.
Massive arena rock success followed, but eventually as is often the case, band strife began to take a toll and little by little the original line-up began to break up. Today Mick Jones is the only remaining original member, but the band continues to play and their hard-core fans continue to want to see the band live, proof that some bands and tunes simply stand the test of time for generations.
