After failing to make the cut for the singing contest Rock Star: INXS in 2005, Chris Daughtry auditioned for American Idol in Denver, CO. He made it to the round of the last four contestants before being eliminated.

The experience proved to be huge as Chris Daughtry formed his own band under his last name, signed a record deal and saw his album climb to Number One on the charts. The band has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and won multiple awards at the 2007 American Music Awards. The success led the band to an opening slot for rock and roll heavyweight Bon Jovi.
