The Counting Crows formed in San Francisco in 1991. They gained notoriety in 1993 with the massive single Mr. Jones. The popularity of the song led to their first album, August and Everything After going multi-platinum. In just two short years the band had become mega-superstars.

The band has enjoyed a fine career, releasing more albums that went platinum and a string of singles landing in the Top Ten on the Modern Rock chart. One of their songs, Accidentally in Love, was included on the Shrek 2 soundtrack and was nominated for an Academy Award.

The Counting Crows have a fabulous reputation for their live performances. Lead singer Adam Duritz has been known to rewrite their own songs right in the middle of their performances and has inserted lyrics from other artists in the middle of their songs as well.
