Aly and AJ are Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka and Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka. The Michalka sisters were born in California, though they did spend some of their childhood in Seattle.

Both girls are actresses and also write and play their own music. As a part of Disney Corp., they have released some of their music in Disney movies such as Ice Princess and Herbie: Fully Loaded. Though they have been fully involved with Disney, Aly and AJ are also well known in the Contemporary Christian and Gospel Music Association, and are also known for their open talk about their faith.
