A wonderful film from 1975 by the name of Monty Python and the Holy Grail was the basis for the musical Spamalot. Like the film, this musical is a parody of the King Arthur legend, and does so with the same irreverent humor. The musical also does a delightful job in its parodies of Broadway Theatre. The music is outstanding and helped land the production the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004-2005 season.
