A Fan's Guide to the Game

Sticking to their plan of developing young players and filling in with some proven talent, the Rays have turned the corner and no longer are a team to overlook. Young hurlers are adding hope from the mound, the offense is loaded with some serious pop, and Tampa Bay is excited to see what they can do in the tough AL East this year. If you're headed out to Tropicana Field to catch a Rays game, you'll want to read our "Fan's Guide to the Game" below.

Tropicana Field is a one of a kind venue. Opened in 1990 for the sole purpose of luring a Major League Baseball team to St. Petersburg, it took eight years before the dome was finally granted an expansion team in 1998. The most notable feature of the park would have to be the huge lighted Tropicana ad hanging behind the right field wall.

Hungry? How about a restaurant dinner in dead center field, just above the fence. For the flip-flop wearing fan, try getting seats at The Beach. Tropicana's second level along the left field wall is known as The Beach. From here its a quick trip up a few rows to a private concourse with outdoor patios.

The Rays have finally enjoyed a taste of playoff action and are hungry for more. Good times are to be had at Tropicana Field this summer, so grab the gang, get out to a Rays game and root them on to another winning season.
