Poison Artist Information
Pop metal was a popular genre of music in the eighties and Poison was one of the forerunners of that scene. Lock down great seats to see Poison live with your tickets from TickCo!
Poison was formed in 1983 in Pennsylvania. The next year they moved to Los Angeles and became regulars on the club circuit. The band established a solid following with their wild shows and glam rock image.
The band had found its niche, as pop mixed with metal became a popular style of music at this time. Poison was quick to capitalize and Look What The Cat Dragged In was released in 1986. The disc was huge, eventually selling over 6 million copies worldwide and peaking at Number Three on the U.S. album chart. Their second disc, Open Up And Say ... Ahh! was even bigger, reaching the Number Two spot on the U.S. album chart and selling over 8 million copies worldwide. Three singles from the album made their way into the Top Ten on the U.S. singles chart, with Every Rose Has Its Thorn reaching Number One.
Plenty of strife within the band and the rise of grunge music in the early nineties spelled doom for Poison and they went on hiatus for several years in 1995. However, Poison resurfaced in 1999, discovered they had many loyal fans still and have been active since.
2009 will see the return to the road for this classic band. Be sure to check the local listings in your area, for on many of the dates Poison will be joined by fellow eighties rockers Def Leppard and Cheap Trick!
When Bret Michaels takes a break from his role as reality-show superstar, Poison hits the road and remains a popular live draw today. Get your tickets today to see Poison rock the house. TickCo can help you get those hard-to-find and sold-out seats.
