Pat Benatar Artist Information
Rock and roll had long been a male dominated genre of music. Pat Benatar was highly influential in breaking down that barrier and in the process released some classic rock and roll. TickCo has your tickets to see this rock legend live in concert!
Pat Benatar was a classically trained vocalist, studying voice and opera at a young age. That training helped define her style when she entered the rock arena in 1977. It may have been rock and roll music she was creating, but her classically trained voice enabled her to belt out beautiful vocals in a very tough style.
Her debut LP was a big hit. In The Heat Of The Night reached Number 12 on the U.S. album charts and contained two singles that broke into the Top 40.
Her sophomore effort Crimes of Passion launched Pat Benatar into stardom. Crimes of Passion peaked at Number Two on the U.S. album chart, was the fifth biggest selling album that year and and contained her first Top Ten single, Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Pat Benatar was a bonafide star and she did not let up. Her next four albums all reached the Top Twenty, with the 1981 release Precious Time topping the charts, classic tunes such as Love is a Battlefield and We Belong peaked at Number Five and her work was now being used in other mediums, such as the single Invincible, which peaked at Number Ten from the movie The Legend of Billie Jean.
Pat Benatar may have fallen out of the limelight in the nineties, but that did not stop this artist from continuing to record and more important, continuing to put on special performances for her fans. It takes special talent to create rock music that is both powerful and beautiful at the same time. Pat Benatar has made a career of incorporating those two distinct characteristics into one special brand of music.
