Jimmy Eat World Tickets
The term "emo" is an unfair tag to put on Mesa, AZ product Jimmy Eat World, as the band blends emo in its traditional form from the late eighties and early nineties, with power pop and alternative rock into a smooth style of indie-rock music.
The career of Jimmy Eat World began in 1993, when life-long friends Jim Adkins and Zach Lind joined forces with Tom Linton and Mitch Porter to form the band. Linton's friend Rick Burch replaced Porter just before the band signed a major label deal. Originally playing music with a punk rock influence, the band began the transformation to its current style once bands such as Fugazi and Sunny Day Real Estate made an imprint.
Slowly but surely Jimmy Eat World developed a solid following of fans and continued their progression as artists. The band released the watershed disc Clarity in 1999, still considered by many long-time fans to be their best album. Jimmy Eat World recently celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the disc with a limited ten-date tour where they played the entire album from track one to the end in order, with the tour culminating in an incendiary performance back home in Arizona.
Jimmy Eat World has already existed for eight years when their fourth disc Bleed American was released in 2001. The disc was a major breakthrough for the band, with the second single from the disc The Middle climbing to Number Five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and receiving massive MTV airplay.
The band has continued to maintain a loyal following with its strong power pop style and highly energetic live shows. Be there in person with your purchase of tickets from TickCo to see Jimmy Eat World live!
