After graduating from UCLA in 1986 with a degree in mass communications, Dave Koz decided to give professional music a try since he grew up playing the saxophone and the piano. The rest of that decade he played as a session musician in several bands.

His decision to pursue a solo career in 1990 proved to be a wise one and to date has released over a dozen albums. Fans enjoy his smooth jazz melodies and critics have as well. Dave Koz has earned six Grammy Award nominations over the years, has hosted a few different syndicated radio shows and promotes an annual Jazz Cruise that has been in existence since 2005.
