Aerosmith started taking shape in 1970, when Steven Tyler first met Joe Perry while working at an ice-cream parlor in Sunapee, NH. Talk about
Sweet Emotion. They quickly put together a band and had a 1973 release on Capital Records. From there they were free to
Dream On as the single from their debut album made it to Number 59.
The mid-seventies, the release of Toys in the Attic, and Aerosmith were the perfect match. The band enjoyed Rock 'N' Roll success and perhaps a little too much of the lifestyle. Riddled by drug and alcohol problems, the band's record sales began to decline in the early 80's, but it takes more than decadence to bring down a band like Aerosmith.
With a little rehab, the help of MTV and a fledgling springboard at that time called rap, Aerosmith teamed up with Run DMC in 1986 for a cover of Walk This Way. With the video's success, the boys of Aerosmith were "back in the saddle again!"
They blew previous album sales out of the water in the 90's and continue to tour into the new millennium.
When it comes to Rock-Americana, you can't let an Aerosmith concert slip by and call yourself a fan of the genre. Grab the good seats from TickCo while they're still available and get ready for a ride on the wings of the Bad Boys of Boston!
