About the Artist: AC DC

AC/DC Artist Information

Some music critics label them as heavy metal, some as hard rock. What matters is the members of AC DC classify their music as good old fashioned rock and roll. TickCo has your seats to witness the all-out assault when AC/DC comes to your town!

AC/DC was formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. A number of early line-up changes occurred before Bon Scott joined the band in 1974. Scott was the vocalist on classic AC DC albums such as Highway to Hell and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The band, led by the charismatic Angus Young, had developed a truly signature sound by this point, incorporating loud, monster riffs with simplistic rhythms. The band was on the edge of international stardom.

Then, tragedy struck, as Bon Scott was found dead on February 19, 1980. The band considered calling it quits, but decided to soldier on with new vocalist Brian Johnson. Their next album Back in Black, which the band had started to create when Bon Scott was still alive, was released during the summer that year. What a statement the band made on this disc!

Back in Black is a classic rock album. Some of AC/DC's biggest hits came from this disc, including the title track, Hells Bells and You Shook Me All Night Long. Brian Johnson's signature screams were all over the album and Angus Young was an absolute monster on guitar. To this day, the riffs on the song Back in Black will still bring goosebumps to any true fan of rock and roll.

AC/DC continue to be a force thirty-plus years into an illustrious career. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, ranked fourth on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and have sold over 200 million albums in their career, including an astonishing 42 million alone from Back in Black.

This is not a band to miss live. Brian Johnson still has a voice that cuts glass and Angus Young, still in his signature school uniform, continues to shred on the guitar. AC DC tickets will be hard-to-find and shows will be sold-out. TickCo is your source to ensure you do not miss AC/DC live in concert!
